Ok, so cooking is totally not my thing but I love my Mum to bits. I wanted to come up with a yummy healthy breakfast for her that does NOT require cooking! I remembered a dessert that a vegan friend made for us once and thought what a great idea for Mothers Day breakfast in bed... So here it is!! - the ideal Mothers Day 'no cook' breakfast!!
Looks pretty, is quick to make and will super charge Mum to continue on with her with legendary Mum status all day.
Now down to business... get yourself to the supermarket and get sorted...!
: SHOPPING LIST :
1 x quarter watermelon
1 x half cantaloupe
1 bunch mint
1 x bunch roses
: FROM THE KITCHEN :
1 x chopping board
1 x large knife
2 x cookie cutters
+ cutlery and crockery - to serve
: STEPS :
+ slice melons into thin pieces
+ cut out stars from cantaloupe
+ cut out hearts from watermelon
+ cut strawberries in half
+ mix together
+ remove mint leaves from stems
+ add mint and mix
: TO SERVE :
+ place yoghurt in a side dish
+ garnish with mint
+ make cup of herbal tea
+ sprinkle rose petals around bowl
+ give Mum breaky and rest of
roses xx so cute!

So someone left me a voicemail the other day. It was so beautiful, just a friend calling to say hi. She’s really good at that… just checking in, just a quick call here and there. At the end of the voicemail she said “so anyway, just want to tell you that I’m really inspired by you and love you”. I totally felt inspiring! And inspired!! This got me thinking about all the inspiring people in my life and how they each have played a part in my journey to become the best me.
Surrounding yourself with people who love you and inspire you is so powerful. So integral to our souls feeling nurtured and safe. It's integral to feeling valued and supported. Could we survive without it?
Ones journey through life is so much more beautiful and rewarding having positively interacted with others and it's also undeniably an easier existence! Alas - forming and nurturing relationships takes conscious effort! For example, sometimes family can be a pain in the butt! But working through their painfulness makes the good times so much better (and genuine).
My inspirational people have fallen into four categories : FAMILY : FRIENDS : BEST FRIENDS : AND : MENTORS :
When I was sorting through this in my head I realised they are actually all the same person! Friends can be family. Family can be best friends. Best friends can be mentors. Mentors can be family. Over years of nurturing these relationships, the lines blur and everyone becomes a body of positive energy urging you towards your dream. It actually doesn't matter how you came to meet them or where they 'sit' in your life.
So when you find your Super People; keep them close by at all times, nurture them and their successes and tell them!! Remind them how much inspirational energy you feel in them.
** Also slow down contact with toxic people. You know - the ones who talk about themselves constantly, who drain your energy, who compare themselves to you and put you down to even it out. Don't let it enter your positive zone! You are wonderful and you deserve the best that this universe has to offer. You need to help yourself first!
Go on! Get out there and tell all your Super People how amazing they are and let them wield their super powers over you!!
: listening to your heart and getting started : By Fiona Loves :
Self healing can be a daunting task! Using art to open the heart and allow healing can we very helpful. I denied myself the 'reward' of feeling good for so long believing it was futile to an abundant future. Pfffft!! I'd just filled my head with crazy notions and found excuses. So this post is about sharing what I did to get started! Firstly - I have to be totally honest! To help me start, I engaged the help of a wonderful life coach. I was literally paralysed by the thought of change and didn't know where to begin.
So where do you start...?
Well, the only thing that matters is that you start! Do anything... doodle, paint, draw, mold clay. Don't worry what it is. Just remember, you deserve this. The world deserves to see your true potential.
Anyway, you need to find whats right for you but here's some help meanwhile...
: COMMIT :
Firstly decide when you are going start. Write this down.
Check what materials you have and make sure you buy what you need prior. Don't spend a lot, art supplies can add up!! Also just start with anything you have laying around. A pen, a marker, a pencil.

: CLEAR :
Make sure there's lots of room in your head for being creative. I find it's harder to create work I love when I'm thinking about little things like exercising, gardening, washing, making the bed, grocery shopping, vacuuming.
So do some chores, go for a walk, pot a plant. Don't go crazy but make sure you tick off a few key things prior to starting.
I have an 'organising obsession' and love to orgnanise one thing before each art session! I've pictured my cutlery here as this is what I did this week! Dont worry too much about it but the idea is make yourself feel productive and connected with yourself - also clear your head while doing it!
: PREPARE :
Get your little art space ready. Have a clean table or work area and lay out all your things. It doesn't matter what you have just put the things there that you like.
Tip : only place here the colors and things that make you feel happy. Its important to make sure you feel connected to what you are about to do.
: INSPIRE :
Now - grab something from around the house that you take your fancy - a trinket, crystals, food, flowers, books, instruments, anything that speaks to you and makes you happy. Pop these beside your little space.
: VISUALISE :
Now that you are looking at something that makes you happy and your favorite things are ready. Sit at your work station and close your eyes.
Take a few deep breaths and visualise yourself painting. Feel the happiness and beauty within you.
: START :
Yep - do it! Don't worry about anything, just keep going. Use your inspiration object to create some shape.
Don't be literal just start with some shapes. Let your tools guide you.
Your intuition will lead the art - just let your heart have a go.
Once you've done your first shapes/color, take a break.
Come back and go again, and again and again...
: ADMIRE :
Stand back and admire. You are an artist, you always have been.
